Three times each year, there is an antique extravaganza in the Adamstown area of Pennsylvania – the last weekend of April, June and September.  Antique shops are everywhere and most stay open quite late during extravaganza days.  The highlights, however, are the flea markets.  Many dealers save up their best merchandise to be shown off during this time.  Listed below are the four markets we shop.  Renningers in both Kutztown and Adamstown; Shupps Grove and Black Angus in Adamstown.

Renningers at Kutztown opens at 10:00 a.m. on the Thursday of Extravaganza weekends.  Both the outdoor flea market and the large indoor antiques mall open at the same time and remain open through Sunday.

Shupps Grove is the next market to open during the extravaganza.  It opens about 7:00 a.m. on Friday morning and is open again on Saturday.

Renningers in Adamstown starts its extravaganza weekend on Saturday when the outdoor flea market opens.  You may find some of the same vendors there that sold at the Kutztown market on Thursday and Friday.  Adamstown indoor antique mall is not open until Sunday morning.

Black Angus is the fourth flea market and it opens on Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m.  Both the indoor antique mall and the outdoor market open at the same time.  It’s very close to the Adamstown Renningers so there’s plenty of time to shop this one and then see what deals may be left at Renningers and to visit their indoor mall.
